Self Talk

Disclaimer: I've read that in order to meet and be friends with a lot more people, talk about them and not about you- so for this entry, treat it as if its a personal reflection, please change pronouns accordingly.

Do you guys talk to yourselves?

I do.
I often do.

I can be my best friend and yet, my worst enemy.
I can be the one-man pep rally of Team TOY!
I can be the jury of my very own conviction!

But seriously, do you talk to yourselves? Do you ask yourself for daily affirmations? Do you ask yourself if you really want to go do something that you haven't done before? Like jump off cliff (haven't but will, very soon!), race a cart on a race track (I did, but against HFMS---i guess, that doesn't count) or eat a dish visually repulsive but gastronomically pleasing.

Friend, tis only natural to strike a conversation with yourself ever so often.

Take for example, a major turning point in your whole life at the moment. You don't have anyone to turn to, and you have to make the decision NOW.

Who do you turn to?

That's absotively correct! (got that made up word from Marshal, HIMYM)

YOURSELF!

There's nothing wrong about it. I might even say it's healthy, well, for me at least. Healthy in a way because I always double check with myself, and gradually learn to make automatic back ups regarding past conversations and discussions when you frequently talk with yourself.

But how does it help you exactly?

I told you already, you get to talk to someone (yourself) about your decisions and choices. Some people will call it double guessing yourself. You are not showing enough decision making prowess. But in a sense, you are making a smarter decision of actually deciding wholeheartedly after your inner discussion.

Talking to yourself helps you clear your mind. Turn every leaf over. and even search for that one small needle in that crazy haystack mind of yours.

Go ahead! It's alright. Talk to yourself. More.
