T.his is the life God has given me. I take control.

Decide that you really want to change. You want to take control of your life. You want to be free. Decide that you want to do things (limitless things) with your life. -Zig Ziglar

A follow up on my recent (October 29, 2010) status on FB.

Just a few hours ago, I visited a potential property for flipping, got to talk with the real estate broker who is selling the house for his sister who migrated the US of A. I was ecstatic about the experience, I mean, I was really doing it. I scheduled a meet up with a broker, took pictures of the house, assessed the damage that needed repairs and also thought about my whole approach towards the deal (applying the techniques taught to me by my mentor, Mr. Trace Trajano).

But that's not all, I also finished listening to one of Zig Ziglar's audiobooks about goal setting and motivation. Please avail of his audiobooks, listen to them, repeatedly. Not only are his words, truly legendary (in all aspect of the word, closely related or parallel to AWESOME), but he has a very endearing accent.

I even got to work at the clinic for make up (2 sessions only though).

All the while, I was thinking. "Wow, I think I outdid myself today, I tackled every aspect of the things that I need to do everyday to reach financial freedom".

But the clueless me, wasn't even aware, up to now, that I actually did a lot MORE unnecessary things than doing the productive and functional vehicles that will guide me to my goal. Give and take, it would be a 70-30 cut, unnecessary vs. productive. A very nice turn out for you indeed.

So if you really want to change, for the better (I pray that is the direction that you will point your arrow), look at all the things that you do, I mean ALL of them (categories: fun, productive, trash, what-the-heck, are-you-out-of-your-mind, adrenaline-junkie type of things).

Decide to change, reinforce the good, the positive and the powerful.
Strip away the bad, the unnecessary, after all, they are just extra baggage.

In all things, persevere,

Anthony Verrick Dones

  1. Thanks for this post. I think we simply need to make God take control of our lives. We can't rely on our understanding.
